Ardara actress plotting her ‘Ruth’ to the top
A young Ardara actress is making it big in the acting spotlight with some of her performances already receiving critical acclaim.
Ardara native Ruth Mc Gill, 27, is already an accomplished actor and studied Drama at Trinity College, Dublin.
Ruth’s next big appearance will be starring in an episode of ‘The Clinic’ one of the top television dramas on RTE television, which will be screened later this year. Ruth will play the part of a parent who will take her ill child to the Clinic. So keep your eyes peeled for this up and coming Donegal actress later on this year!
Ruth has been working on various acting projects all over Ireland and has starred in “The Turn of the Screw” a play adapted from the Henry James novel.
The crew went on tour for a month and performed at Letterkenny’s An Grianán Theatre, as well as nine other locations throughout Ireland.
A number of national newspapers commended Ruth’s performance, including the Sunday Business Post which stated:
“Ruth McGill’s excellent performance as the tortured governess manages to elicit a deep emotional response despite her necessary reserve, and her interplay with the ghostly Flora and the macabre Miles is painfully raw in its desperation”
At the moment Ruth is working on a play that will take her to Finland and also to the Dublin Fringe Festival, she will be part of a cast of four.
The play will run for two weeks in Dublin at the Bewley’s Cafe Theatre.
Ruth told the Donegal Post that’s she was very happy to be able to make a career out of acting and that she was very happy with the way her performance in ‘The turn of the Screw’ had been received by critics.
No doubt, it will be the first of many plaudits for the Ardara actor.
