Staff are expected to move into the new Ambulance centre on a phased basis starting this month.
It is expected that the work on the centre, located at the old Democrat offices on the Dnegal Road, will be completed next week. The procurement of equipment and commissioning is said to be at an advanced stage.
The ambulance control centre currently located at Castlebar in Mayo is to be amalgamated with the new facility in Ballyshannon, in what will be the new Regional ambulance co-ordination centre.
