Cllr calls for expanded Health centre parking facilities

A Bundoran councillor has called for extra car parking available across the road at Bundoran library from the existing car park at the rear of Bundoran health centre to be made available to those attending doctors’ surgery in the busy morning rush.
Cllr Philip McGlynn said that the situation was getting more difficult as the surgery was getting busier all the time and their own car park was simply not big enough.
“These people that come to the surgery are here for a very good reason. The library car park is literally across the road from the health centre. The main activity at the surgery is from 8.30am -12.30pm.
“Now with restricted library services, the Bundoran library is not open on Monday, does not open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays until 1.30pm and is open more regularlty on the Thursday and Friday. The response from Donegal County library has been extremely disappointing to date”, he said.
Cllr McGlynn said that he would be calling on all members of the council to support him.
“First and foremost, our job is to serve the people of Bundoran. This is a practical and simple solution to an ongoing situation. We are very lucky to have the health facility providing so much for the town. I believe it will not impact significantly on the parking facilities for the library and co-operation is key to solving this difficulty,” he told the Donegal Post.
